COVID-19 Coronavirus Update

Members, Staff & Guests. 

Please find below a communique from the Cambuslang Rugby and Sports Club Committee on the unfolding COVID-19 situation.

In view of the continuing issue of the COVID-19 threat, the CR&SC Managing Committee have constructed policies and procedures aimed at protecting our Members, Staff and Guests. We are only following the advice issued by the UK Government and its Chief Medical Officer to keep everyone safe and up to date. We will not follow any other non-official guidelines.

From the 16th March to the 30th March (as a minimum), the clubhouse sporting facilities and Member’s Bar will be closed. During this period a programme of essential maintenance and an extensive deep cleaning will be undertaken. Functions that have already been booked may still proceed on a case-by-case basis but no further bookings for this period will be taken until further notice, or government advice changes.

As you all know, the advice is changing almost on an hourly basis and while the situation remains fluid, the Management Team asks for the support and understanding of all members. It is likely that it will be necessary for the business to make further alterations on how our business conducts it’s daily operations in a bid to meet the changing and challenging shape of the situation, and the Management Team will provide further information as frequently as necessary.

Our main focus is to ensure that all Members, Staff & Guests are protected, understand the facts. We would therefore ask you to strictly follow the points below.

  • Avoid touching face ,mouth and nose where practical
  • No hand shaking, kissing or hugging to take place, avoid inter human contact where possible.
  • Do not leave cups or plates/cutlery or glasses lying about.
  • Do not attend the Club premises  if you have, or have come into contact with someone who has the symptoms  or been diagnosed with COVID-19.


With immediate effect:

1. Make sure our Clubhouse is clean and hygienic and all surfaces are cleaned with effective disinfectant.

2. Promote regular hand washing with hand wash or soap at all times.
