William “Tug” Wilson

It is with great sadness for me that I must advise that an old worthy of the Club and good friend, Tug Wilson, passed away in hospital last night. Tug had not been well for some time but enjoyed his visits to watch the 1st XV games at home this season giving his verbal support and taking a couple of beers afterwards while analysing the game with friends.

Tug, a submariner, was a valuable asset to the Club, playing in the front row for the 1st XV back in the 80/90’s, coaching both Senior and Junior teams and an invaluable House Convenor for several years after the new clubhouse was opened. Cambuslang Rugby Club was a big part of Tug’s life.

Tug’s presence will be missed around the Club and our thoughts are with Yvonne, his children and grandchildren at this sad time.
