Senior Awards- 2019/2020

With the 2019/20 Season officially over, and no confirmation of when we can hold our annual club dinner , we can announce our award winners for Season 2019/20. Many congratulations to our worthy winners, here’s to seeing you all on the field again soon.

1st XV Player of the Season- Jack Denton

The main award goes to Cambuslang’s favourite Zimbabwean, Jack Denton. Arriving at the club in the summer of 2019, Jack was perhaps initially better know for his more famous older brother which immediately gave him something in common with his new club captain Euan Jones.

Jack’s strong running and solid tackling have been a feature the 1st XV squad all season- he has been at the heart of all our best performances and a shining light in the tougher days.

Hopefully we can all raise a glass at home to congratulate Jack for being an excellent addition to our club, on and off the park.

Most Improved Player- Gregg Oheme

Our next award goes to Gregg Oheme, well deserved recognition for an excellent breakthrough season with strong performances in the back 3 and covering at scrum-half. Gregg consistently hits above well above his weight and offers a really exciting skillset in attack.
Well done Gregg.

Young Player of the Season- Cameron Oheme

Not to be outdone by his wee brother, our Young Player of the Season is Mr Versatile Cammy Oheme. Featuring in the back-row as well on the wing, Cammy never fails to put his body on the line has become an invaluable player for the 1st XV. Great work Cammy.

2nd XV Player of the Season- Simon Dick

Been a pleasure to see Big Si back in a Cambus jersey this year, adding some classy touches and valuable leadership to the 2s.
Here’s to some more appearances (and outrageous dummies!) when rugby resumes.

Try of the Season- Kris Hughes

Next up is our Try of the Season award which goes to Kris Hughes for a cracker against Strathendrick. Great score, here’s hoping Kris emerges from lockdown injury-free and ready for more of this next season. Watch the try HERE. Thanks to Weegie Rugby for the footage and continued excellent coverage of the West of Scotland rugby
