Cambuslang legend Duncan Weir has been rewarded for his consistently excellent form with a well deserved call-up to the Scotland matchday squad for Sunday’s home Six Nations game against France. The fly-half starts on the bench.
You can watch the match live at the club, 3pm kick-off.
Weather has beaten the rugby again, 1st & 2nd XV games both off today. No better way to spend a wet and windy weekend than enjoying the best of the Six Nations action at your local club- heating will be on, bar is stocked and the kitchen will be open. C’mon Scotland!

1st XV- Annan 19 Cambuslang 13 | 2XV- Cambuslang v Carrick- Postponed
Close call for the 1st XV yesterday coming up agonisingly short away to Annan Rugby. The boys fought back well from going 14-0 down and losing a couple of key forwards to injuries early on. No doubt a few sore bodies on both sides after a physical game. Well done to Annan for the win and credit to both sides for putting on a good game in tough conditions. All the Cambus points came from our man of the match Andy Greenen with a try, conversion and 2 penalties. Sadly the 2nd XV fixture against Carrick was called off.
We are hosting a very special Sponsors & Friends lunch at the end of next month, with all money raised from ticket sales, auction and raffle going to the wonderful My Name’5 Doddie Foundation. We have arranged a karoake evening and the bar will be serving a ‘Myname’5 Doddie’ gin along with some special Doddie cocktails. All attendees are also of course invited to take in some rugby, with the 1st XV taking on Stewartry Rugby Club. We hope as many people as possible can join us for a day and evening of great entertainment and help raise much-needed funds and awareness for the fight against Motor Neuron disease. Anyone interested in attending is asked to contact firstname.lastname@example.org or ask for Karen on 07367 284121.
